TCU launched a 360 virtual tour showcasing our spirited campus. Inside the Schollmaier arena, students get loud to cheer on the Horned Frogs and to celebrate events like the Chancellor's Assembly and Commencement. Check out some highlights from the court.
Though they both recently passed away, Ed and Rae Schollmaier left a lasting legacy on TCU and Fort Worth. Ed regularly attended basketball games for five decades and the couple gave the lead gift for the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena renovation.
That $72 million renovation overhauled many parts of the arena, maybe most notably the Walsh Family Court floor. Look closely and you'll see the Nike-designed frog skin pattern and red arcs - a nod to our fierce horned lizard mascot and the blood they shoot out of their eyes. The floor was also lowered four feet to get fans closer to the action and help the arena feel more intimate.
Our volleyball team moved to Schollmaier arena in fall 2020, starting a new era during the team's 25th anniversary season. The change was needed, as the team sold out all of its regular season matches held in their previous home during the 2019 season. The team serves up consistent competition in the Big 12 conference and has appeared in the NCAA tournament three times.
