Credit Transfers and GPA

TCU will accept credits you have earned a C- or better from regionally-accredited institutions.  Courses which do not transfer to TCU include the following:

  • Courses in which a grade lower than “C-” was earned
  • Courses considered to be developmental (e.g., orientation, time management, library skills) or remedial (e.g., those in English, math and reading)
  • Vocational-Technical courses

Got Questions?

Well, you wouldn't be the first. Giving people answers is what we do best. Here are some of the most popular ones.

Equivalency Guides

All Equivalencies are non-binding and subject to change. Each department will determine how classes transfer toward their degree plans.

  • Transfer Credit Calculator:  Use this online tool to upload your transcript and receive a quick estimate for how many credits will transfer to TCU.
  • Transfer Equivalency Guide: Use this guide to review core requirements. All Texas community colleges (including Tarrant County College) and many state universities in Texas use the Texas Common Course numbering system used in this document. Out-of-state public and private Universities may have different course numbers but can compare course titles.
