Key Insights
  • 🌍 Diversity and Inclusion: TCU’s student body reflects a range of backgrounds, enhancing campus culture. We welcome students from all 50 states, 90 countries and more than 60 religious traditions. Applicants are encouraged to show how they will contribute to diversity on campus.
  •  Authentic Applications: Authenticity in applications stands out; students should showcase their true selves. The admission team values genuine narratives over generic responses.
  • 📅 Application Deadlines: Understanding and adhering to deadlines is crucial. Early Decision applicants should be certain of their choice, while Early Action and Regular Decision offer more flexibility. Key application deadlines include November 1 for Early Decision and Early Action and February 1 for Early Decision II and Regular Decision. Transfer deadlines are November 1 for the spring semester and June 1 for fall.
  • 📝 Test-Optional Policy: TCU’s test-optional stance means students can apply without fear of scores negatively impacting their consideration for admission and scholarships.
  • 📚 Holistic Review Process: TCU’s approach to application review is holistic, valuing a balanced academic and extracurricular profile. We consider the entirety of an applicant’s profile, not just grades or test scores.
  • 📲 Counselor Communication: Engaging with admissions counselors can provide clarity and support in the application process, especially for those with questions or concerns.
  • 💸 Financial Aid Accessibility: Applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships, and they can complete the FAFSA and CSS Profile to determine eligibility for additional aid. For more information on financial aid and scholarships, join us on Nov. 7 for our next Facebook Live Q&A!

  • Reflection and Growth: Discuss significant experiences that have shaped you, focusing on how you’ve grown or what you’ve learned from them.

When will I receive my admission decision, and what are my options if I'm not admitted?

Early Decision I and Early Action applicants will receive a decision by January 1, Early Decision II applicants will receive a decision by March 3 and Regular Decision applicants will receive a decision by April 1. First-year applicants have until May 1 (National Candidate Reply Date) to commit to TCU.

If you are denied admission, you can consider other universities or community colleges as alternatives and submit your interest in transferring to TCU in the future. If you are deferred, it means your application is being reconsidered, and you have the chance to provide additional information, such as updated grades or new test scores, to strengthen your application. It's also important to maintain communication with the admissions office to understand your options and the next steps.
