Awarded to transfer students who are qualified with a minimum of 3.0 GPA and 12 transferable hours. Dual credit college courses are included in the hours and GPA used for transfer scholarships. Military veterans eligible for 100% tuition coverage under the Post 9-11 GI Bill who plan to use this benefit at TCU will not be awarded a transfer academic scholarship.

When Do I Do This?
When you are absolutely certain you are going to attend TCU, transfer students who are U.S. citizens must pay the nonrefundable commitment deposit of $500. International transfer students must pay the commitment deposit by November 15 ( Spring enrollment) or May 1 ( Fall enrollment ). The deposit must be paid before you can enroll in classes or register for orientation and frog camp.

Your $500 deposit is not refundable—it confirms that you plan to enroll at TCU. This is a credit toward your tuition. To pay your deposit, go to my.tcu.edu. If you are a qualifying veteran under the Post 9-11 GI Bill, you may submit this form to request to waive your $500 deposit into your veteran benefits.

When Do I Do This?
As soon as you apply

The housing application is open May 1 - June 1. On-campus housing for transfer students is extremely limited and unlikely to be offered. You are encouraged to find off-campus housing.

All incoming students under the age of 22 must provide record of a meningitis vaccination administered within the past five years, which is satisfied by MenQuadfi, Menactra, or Menveo. This is not Meningitis B. Students born after 1957 must also submit record of two doses of the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccination or proof of immunity to Measles and Mumps. Vaccination records are due to the Health Center prior to orientation. Students who have not completed the vaccinations requirement will not be able to register for courses during orientation. For more information and vaccination forms, visit healthcenter.tcu.edu.

After your meningitis and MMR vaccination forms are received by the health center, you will receive “the housing application” from Housing and Residence Life in your TCU email account at mail.tcu.edu, which uses the same username and password as my.tcu.edu.

When Do I Do This?

We'll email you when orientation has opened for registration, so watch your inbox. You can always check out the orientation website for the most up-to-date information.

Orientation is required for all incoming transfer students. During orientation, you will meet other students transferring to TCU, learn about the core and TCU student resources, meet with an advisor, enroll in classes, get your TCU photo ID card and much more.

When Do I Do This?
After your commitment deposit has been posted, you will be able to register for Frog Camp on my.tcu.edu. Frog Camp registration is open as space allows.

Frog Camp is a highly-recommended, once-in-a-lifetime program that introduces you to the TCU community. This extended-orientation program is offered off-campus in different environments around the State of Texas and sometimes beyond. You’ll be placed in a transfer small group while also having the opportunity to connect with other types of students. You’ll walk away from Frog Camp with new friends, faculty/staff resources, and upper-division mentors. You’ll also get an inside look at what it means to be a Horned Frog, learn TCU traditions, and learn how you are going to make a difference at TCU.

  • Commitment Deposit
  • Academic Advising
  • Final Transcript (if applicable)
  • Vaccination Records

Before enrolling in classes, students must watch the Pre-Orientation Modules and email transfers@tcu.edu. An academic advisor will be assigned. Once advised, the academic advising hold will be lifted.

Enrollment typically opens during the first week of December for Spring admits, and at the end of May for Fall admits. To enroll in classes, go online to my.tcu.edu portal in the “Student Center” section.
