Are you thinking about transferring to TCU? The transfer application process can be confusing at times, so we want to provide some clarity to the process and some tips to keep in mind as you complete your application!
Gather Important Documents
There are several important documents you will need to attach to your application including:
- An official copy of your high school transcript
- An official copy of your current college transcript
- A disciplinary standing form sent from your college to TCU
- Proof of English proficiency (only for international transfer students)
Official transcript copies must come directly from your high school and current institution. More information on important documents to include in your application can be found on our website.
Dedicate Time to Your Essay
Your essay is one of the most important parts of your application! It tells us more about you and your story, giving a glimpse of your personality while showing off your writing skills. The essay should be anywhere between 300 to 500 words and is based on one of the prompts found here. Manage your time well while crafting your essay and be sure to proofread your work.
You may consider using the writing center at your current institution to fine-tune your essay.
File your Financial Aid Application
In order to apply for need-based financial aid, you must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and/or the CSS Profile. These applications notify TCU of your financial situation and help us create your financial aid package.
For more information on these applications, check out our recent Frog Blog post about financial aid!
Take Advantage of the Early Action Deadline
We want to get a decision to you in a timely manner. Make sure to submit your documents and application by the February 1 Early Action deadline so you can join us next fall.
Students who submit their application by the Early Action Deadline are guaranteed a decision by April 1.
