Karen Scott Accepts Two Awards
Congratulations to Karen Scott, Director of International Admission at TCU, who fittingly accepted her most recent award in Ireland. The Council of International Schools (CIS) honored Scott with the T. Michael Maybury Award in November.

Colleagues at TCU and universities and schools across the country who nominated Scott for the award noted her dedication to international students over her nearly 40-year career. She has served on various Regional Service Committees for CIS, leading many student recruitment tours in Latin America and Asia.  In this capacity, she coordinated international tours and mentored fellow admission staff.

"Karen Scott is TCU personified," said Dean of Admission Heath Einstein. "She is personally responsible for internationalizing our campus. Even after nearly four decades of service to TCU, Karen still possesses a boundless spirit and a kind word for everyone."

Scott earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from TCU and began working at TCU as an admission counselor in 1985. She was the first to coordinate international recruitment efforts directly from the Office of Admission.

Karen and husband Mike Scott will retire in May 2024. The pair received the TCU Impact Award, presented by Chancellor Victor Boschini at TCU's opening luncheon in August. He recognized their combined 75 years of service and dedication to the university.
