Inspirational. Revolutionary. Passionate.

These are a few words that TCU first-generation college students use to describe themselves.

Being the first in your family to attend college is a big deal, and at TCU, it is one that we like to celebrate!

Each year on November 8, TCU celebrates its first generation students for choosing to be trailblazers and furthering their educational pursuits. These students often face unique obstacles that others may not be accustomed to, which is why we have developed a network for first-gen students to receive the support they may need in their college journey. TCU's First Generation Network hosts events that gives students the opportunity to grow in their professional and leadership skills while also connecting them to other first-generation students.

In addition to this, first-year students (who are also first generation students) have access to specially tailored orientation sessions that include leadership trainings and panel discussions with first-generation TCU alumni.

These are just a few of the many resources that first generation students have access to at TCU.

Let's take a moment to honor our first-generation students at TCU for their resilience, tenacity and hard work as they Lead On®!
